Ishaq Dar leads Pakistan’s diplomatic push in Riyadh

March 19, 2026 (MLN): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Riyadh on a two-day visit to attend a meeting of foreign ministers from regional countries.

The visit, at the invitation of Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, focused on the ongoing regional security crisis.

During the meeting, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence of all brotherly nations in the region.

He called for an immediate halt to attacks on their territories, emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy, and highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to play a constructive role in resolving the prevailing security challenges, according to Radio Pakistan.

The visit follows a recent trip by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Saudi Arabia, undertaken at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

During his engagement, the prime minister held talks with the crown prince on ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, regional security dynamics, and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

Together, these high-level visits underscore Pakistan’s active diplomatic outreach and its commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region.
