Domestic bullion shines in Pakistan, 24-karat gold rises by Rs500 per tola

May 24, 2023 (MLN): Domestic bullion continued its climb on Wednesday, with 24-karat gold reaching Rs237,800, up by Rs500.

According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of 10-gram 24-karat gold reached Rs203,875, surging by Rs429.

While 10-gram 22-karat gold stood at Rs186,886, inflating by Rs393.

On the other hand, the price of silver remained stable in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver closing at Rs2,900 per tola, and the price of 10-gram 24-karat silver reaching Rs2,486 per tola.

Similiarly, international spot gold is currently trading at $1982.17, up by 0.37% on the day.

International spot silver is currently trading at $23.46, with a meager increase of 0.02% on the day.

Meanwhile, the debt ceiling has still not been finalized after the talks on Tuesday, and the clock is ticking with only a week left before June 1.

However, Kevin McCarthy, speaker of the United States House of Representatives said negotiators will get together this morning, expressing that debt ceiling talks are still productive.
