Committee on Law Reforms to consider merging special courts into ordinary courts

January 23, 2019 (MLN): The Special Committee on Law Reforms has decided to consider the tiers of court system in Pakistan in its formal meeting in the first week of February. In this meeting, the committee has decided to discuss the abolishment of Special Courts and their merger in ordinary courts

Furthermore, the committee has decided to write a letter to the Ministry of Law and Justice seeking a report on the work carried out with regard to law reforms in the country within seven days, and requesting them to send a concerned officer to brief the committee to this effect.

They also intend to write letters to other relevant departments and organizations in this regard, including Pakistan Bar Council and Provincial Bar Councils, Law and Justice Commission, National Commission for Women Rights, National Commission of Child Abuse and National Commission for Human Rights.
