Benchmark KSE-100 Index down by 260.99 points at the End of the day

During the day, Benchmark KSE-100 index went through a volatile session in the market, trading volume increased by 11.97 million shares during the current trading session. In the previous session, market closed at 44,855.78 level with a volume of 86.259 million shares.

Whereas, the benchmark KSE-100 index opened positively at 43,868.70, posted a day high of 44,027.58 and a day low of 43,550.68. The first half of the session remained positive and closed at 43,848.41, up by 7.37 points, whereas in the later half the market went in to the bearish zone. At the end of second half, the session closed negatively at 43,594.79 level with a net change of -260.99 points and a net trading volume of 86.259 million shares. Daily trading volume of KSE 100 rose by 11.97 million shares or 16.12 percent on a day to day basis.

Major bears which pulled the index in the negative zone include Power Generation and Distribution, Cement and OMC's. Power Generation and Distribution sector was down 51.26 points, Cement Sector took away 36.33 points whereas OMC closed 28.69 points in red.

The laggard stocks for the day were LUCK (down 1.02 percent; -16.96 points), Thal Limited (THALL) (down 2.53 percent; -8.72 points), SNGP (down 3.96 percent; -24.17 points) and International Industries (INIL) (down 2.37 percent; -6.99 points)

The top scrips closing in green today were HBL (up 0.93 percent; +24.58 points), UBL (up 0.89 percent; 1+5.60 points) and SSGC (up 4.17 percent; 9.32 points).
