Auction Result: SBP sells MTBs worth Rs1.25tr

August 09, 2023 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted an auction on Wednesday in which it sold Market Treasury Bills (MTBs) worth Rs1,249.46 billion for 3, 6 and 12 months.

Auction target was Rs450bn against a maturing amount of Rs508bn.

Cut off yield for 3, 6 and 12 months were 22.9, 22.75 and 22.98%, declining by 7.88, 17.01 and 1.91 bps.

Total amount offered was Rs1,678.16bn out of which the SBP accepted Rs1,112.30bn.

The SBP received bids worth Rs1,484.26bn for 3 months, Rs96.55bn for 6 months and Rs97.35bn for 12 months out of which it accepted Rs1,109.94bn, Rs1bn and Rs1.35bn respectively.

In addition the SBP picked up Rs137.17bn from the non-competitive auction, making the total amount accepted Rs1,249.46bn.
