September 13, 2024 (MLN): Renowned economist and Former Minister of State Pakistan Ashfaq Yousuf Tola, FCA, has taken on a new role as a Member of the Policy Board at the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.
With his extensive expertise in economic policy and financial reform, Tola is expected to contribute significantly to the ministry’s strategic initiatives to foster sustainable development in Pakistan.
Mr. Ashfaq Tola, FCA, is a distinguished professional with over 25 years of diverse experience spanning tax planning, assurance, business advisory services, international mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, investment advisory, due diligence, financial product design and launch, public listings, and corporate affairs.
A Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, Mr. Tola is also affiliated with several prestigious organizations.
These include the Privatization Committee of the Government of Pakistan, the Sub-Committee on Taxation for Islamic Banking (Ministry of Finance), and the Tax Reforms Implementation Commission.
He also chairs the Economic Advisory Committee at the South Asian Federation of Accountants and has held the position of Vice President since January 2024.
In addition, he has previously served on various government bodies such as the Tax Reforms Commission, the Tax Advisory Council, the Taxation Reform Coordination Group, the Revenue Advisory Council, and the Privatization Board.
As the President of his firm, Mr. Tola has a proven track record in the accounting industry. He brings expertise in international tax, corporate finance, tax advisory, creative strategy, and strategic planning.
