UNITY appoints Lt Gen (Retd) Omar Mahmood Hayat as board chairman

October 10, 2022 (MLN): Unity Foods Ltd (UNITY) on Monday announced that it has appointed Lt Gen (Retd) Omar Mahmood Hayat as the chairman of the board, a company filing on the PSX showed.

He replaced the outgoing chairman and director Mr. Suleman S. Mehdi, who resigned on October 4, 2022.

Lt Gen (R) Hayat brings over 40 years of experience, most of it in important positions in the military and as chairman on the boards of various companies including Wah Nobel Group, Pakistan Ordinance Factory, National Disaster Management Authority, ERRA, and Pakistan Humanitarian Forum.

He also served as Chief of Staff in the Special Support Group for internally displaced persons (IDPs), overseeing the management of close to four million IDPs from Swat and South Waziristan.
