September 22, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan’s benchmark KSE-100 Index edged higher on Tuesday, gaining 248.92 points or 0.15% to close at 171,402.08, as selective buying in oil & gas exploration and cement stocks helped the market extend its gains, albeit at a slower pace.

The modest advance was driven by targeted buying in key index-heavy stocks, particularly across the exploration, cement and power sectors. However, weakness in commercial banks and fertilizer stocks kept the benchmark’s upside limited.

The index traded in a range of 813.80 points, hitting an intraday high of 171,680.73, up 527.57 points, while the low stood at 170,866.93, down 286.23 points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index stood at 123.44 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies, 52 closed up, 45 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged.
