UAE President’s forthcoming visit expected to boost ties: PM

August 26, 2025 (MLN): The official visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan is expected at the earliest, with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressing confidence that the visit would further strengthen relations between the two sides.

The remarks came during a farewell call paid by the outgoing UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi, in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the successful completion of his tenure and thanked him for his role in deepening Pakistan-UAE relations.

He appreciated the leadership of UAE President and ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for fostering close ties, noting that in recent months both countries have taken significant steps to enhance cooperation, including high-level visits, the establishment of the Pak-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission and the signing of the Operational Duty Passport Holders Agreement.

The UAE Ambassador, in turn, thanked the Prime Minister for the support extended during his nine-year stay and expressed gratitude for the friendship received from the government and people of Pakistan, affirming that he would continue to work for strong relations between the two nations.
