SBP raises profit rates on NPCs

September 20, 2022 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Monday, increased profit rates on rupee-denominated Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs) designed for overseas Pakistanis.
As per the details, the rates on 3-month certificates increased from 5.5% to 15%. While the rate of return on 6-month and 1-year certificates has been revised to 15.25% and 15.5% respectively from 5.25% and 5% earlier.
Meanwhile, the rate on a 3-year NPC increased by 3.25% to 14%, while the return on a 5-year certificate jumped by 2.5% to 13.5%.
