August 24, 2022 (MLN): Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund may invest about $3 billion in key sectors of Pakistan, Bloomberg reported.

Qatar Investment Authority is evaluating strategic investments in Islamabad and Karachi airports as well as in the renewable energy, power, and hospitability sectors, the people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

To note, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently paying a two-day official visit to Qatar from Tuesday on the invitation of the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

“The visit will renew the bond of brotherhood & friendship between our two countries. We want to transform our historical bilateral relationship into a more robust strategic relationship,” PM tweeted.

During my interactions with market & business leaders, I will highlight the exciting investment opportunities in Pakistan's various sectors such as renewable energy, food security, industrial & infrastructure development, tourism and hospitality, he added.
