Pakistan records FDI of $206.6m in June

July 18, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has recorded a of $206.6m in June, compared to worth $205m in the Same Period Last Year (SPLY), the latest data issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed.

Comparison on a month-on-month basis shows that the country reported an investment of $385m in the previous month.

Cumulatively in 12MFY25, the country fetched a FDI of $2.46bn against the $2.35bn attracted in the Same Period Last fiscal year.

Within the direct investments in the review month, there was an inflow of $310.4m, up by 27.32% YoY, while the outflow surged to $103.8m, up by over 167.53% YoY.

Concerning portfolio investment under FDI, an outflow of $42.9m was witnessed through equity securities as compared to an inflow of $4.2m in June 2024.

The foreign private investment into the country amounted to positive $163.7m in June 2025, as compared to private investment worth $209.2m recorded in June 2024.

Meanwhile, with respect to foreign public investment, an inflow of $17.1m was witnessed during the review month through equity securities.

Accordingly, the total foreign investment in the review month clocked in at $180.8m, compared to an investment $380.7m in June 2024.

On a cumulative basis, within 12MFY25, the total foreign stood at $1.81bn as compared to foreign of $1963.6bn reported in the corresponding period last year.
