SBP reserves rise to $14.59bn in a week

December 11, 2025 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $11.7 million or 0.08% WoW to $14.59 billion during the week ended on December 05, 2025, data released by the State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $23.7m or 0.12% WoW to $19.61bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks rose by $12m or 0.24% WoW to $5.03bn.

SBP has also received SDR 914 million, equivalent to about $1.2 billion, from the IMF under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) in the current week.

This amount will be reflected in SBP’s foreign exchange reserves for the week ending on 12-Dec-2025.

In the current fiscal year, SBP-held reserves have increased by $5.52bn or 60.92%.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen an increase of $2.88bn or 24.56%.
