November 25, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan is hosting its largest-ever delegation of foreign food buyers in Karachi this week, with more than 800 international purchasers from over 80 countries set to attend the 3rd International Food & Agriculture Exhibition (FoodAg 2025).

The three-day trade event opens at Expo Centre Karachi.

The gathering marks the biggest concentration of global food-import companies Pakistan has ever attracted for a single sector-specific exhibition, according to the press release.

This turnout signals rising international demand for the country’s rice, fruits, meat, seafood, salt, spices, and other agri-food exports.

More than 350 Pakistani exporters are set to meet thousands of pre-arranged B2B counterparties, with officials projecting that the event could generate over $ 1 billion in export-related business.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive Faiz Ahmad said the scale of buyer participation shows confidence in Pakistan’s food supply reliability.

He noted that the country did not restrict food exports even during periods of domestic pressure in recent years.

Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said Pakistan’s diversified agro-climatic regions and recent market-access initiatives have helped shift the country from being a high-volume producer to a more visible branded supplier in global food markets.

The delegation includes major importers from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Europe’s Surya Foods, several Middle Eastern wholesalers, more than 200 African buyers, and companies from the United States, Canada, Australia and Russia.

Alongside the trade meetings, nine conferences on sustainability and traceability and a Pakistan Cuisine Pavilion featuring international chefs are scheduled, making FoodAg 2025 one of the country’s biggest agri-food trade events in recent years.
