Pakistan, US strengthen bilateral partnership

June 27, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with a particular focus on enhancing trade cooperation.

The development followed a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The discussion was described as warm and cordial, according to the press release issued.

During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed appreciation for President Donald Trump’s bold and decisive leadership that resulted in the Iran-Israel ceasefire.

He also extended gratitude to Secretary Rubio for the United States’ role in facilitating the Pakistan-India ceasefire.

Turning to the Middle East, the Prime Minister noted Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting peace in the region.

In response, Secretary Rubio welcomed these efforts and emphasized the United States’ interest in working with Pakistan to advance peace and stability across the region.
