Pakistan, Egypt unite in condemnation of Israeli attack on Qatar at Doha summit

September 16, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Egypt reaffirmed their solidarity with Qatar during a meeting on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit in Doha, condemning Israel’s September 9 attack as a reckless violation of sovereignty and international law.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, where Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present.

The Prime Minister appreciated Egypt’s proactive diplomacy and termed the Doha Summit an important step to showcase Muslim unity and hold Israel accountable for its actions.

Sharif also recalled his earlier interactions with the Egyptian President, including their meeting at the D-8 Summit in Cairo and telephone exchanges on Eid, reaffirming Pakistan’s intent to strengthen bilateral ties in trade, investment and health.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact given the regional situation.
