PSX Closing Bell: Minor Key Day

August 25, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 148,815.30, showing a decrease of 677.75 points or 0.45%.

The index traded in a range of 1,322.62 points showing an intraday high of 150,079.75 (+586.70) and a low of 148,757.13 (-735.92) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 210.51 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 35 closed up, 63 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were AIRLINK (-3.79%), BNWM (-3.51%), EFUG (-3.23%), UPFL (-3.02%), and PIBTL (-2.86%).

On the other hand, top gainers were GADT (+7.66%), YOUW (+3.18%), PABC (+2.84%), NPL (+2.83%), and PTC (+2.80%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were BAHL (-108.89pts), SYS (-91.14pts), MEBL (-87.10pts), HBL (-54.88pts), and LUCK (-51.75pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were BAFL (+41.79pts), NBP (+20.06pts), SEARL (+17.21pts), PABC (+13.18pts), and PTC (+12.97pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-249.33pts), Technology & Communication (-110.18pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-97.63pts), Cement (-82.39pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-31.44pts).

While the index was supported by Pharmaceuticals (+17.98pts), Miscellaneous (+15.01pts), Textile Spinning (+9.04pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (+3.70pts), and Glass & Ceramics (+2.91pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 91,673.12 with a net loss of 314.97 points or 0.34%.

Total market volume was 693.30 million shares compared to 802.01m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs26.34 billion showing a decrease of Rs14.11bn.

There were 336,837 trades reported in 479 companies with 204 closing up, 246 closing down, and 29 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 23,188 points or 18.46% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 33,688 points or 29.26% so far this calendar year.
