PKR rises by 15 paisa against USD

August 01, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 15.27 paisa or 0.05% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.72 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.87.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 283 and a low (ask) of 285.5.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.50 for buying and 285.50 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 1.04 rupees or 0.32% against the Euro, closing at 322.69 compared to the previous value of 323.73.
Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 2.05 rupees or 0.55% to 372.68 compared to 374.73 a day ago.
The local unit appreciated 1.40 rupees or 0.40% against Swiss franc to close at 346.58.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 1.51 paisa or 0.80% to close the session at 1.8772 versus 1.8923 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee rose 11.97 paisa or 0.30% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.21 from 39.33.
The local currency appreciated by 4.27 paisa or 0.06% against Saudi Riyal to 75.37. While it rose by 4.26 paisa or 0.06% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.97.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 1.05 rupees or 0.37%. While it has weakened 4.17 rupees or 1.47% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 3bps to 10.80% and 11.05%.
