PKR rises by 1 paisa against USD

September 05, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 1.45 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.65 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.67.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.7 and a low (ask) of 283.1.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 282.50 for buying and 283.30 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR weakened 57.46 paisa or 0.18% against the Euro, closing at 328.87 compared to the previous value of 328.30.

Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 74.10 paisa or 0.20% to 379.25 compared to 378.51 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 50.45 paisa or 0.14% against Swiss franc to close at 350.45.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value deteriorated 0.12 paisa or 0.06% to close the session at 1.9003 versus 1.8991 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 0.76 paisa or 0.02% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.46 from 39.45.

The local currency deteriorated by 0.02 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 75.07. While it appreciated by 0.40 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.68.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 2.11 rupees or 0.75%. While it has fell 3.10 rupees or 1.10% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.79% and 11.04%.
