PKR remains flat against USD

December 08, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 0.93 paisa against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.41 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.42.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.20 and a low (ask) of 281.45.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.70 for buying and 281.45 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 8.10 paisa or 0.02% against the Euro, closing at 326.99 compared to the previous value of 327.07.
Against the British Pound, PKR strengthened by 60.13 paisa or 0.16% to 373.79 compared to 374.39 a day ago.
The local unit appreciated 29.42 paisa or 0.08% against Swiss franc to close at 349.03.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 0.71 paisa or 0.39% to close the session at 1.8056 versus 1.8127 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee rose 0.39 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.67 from 39.67.
The local currency rose by 1.84 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 74.71. While it increased by 0.15 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.35.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 3.35 rupees or 1.20%. While it has weakened 1.86 rupees or 0.66% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.90% and 11.15%.
