PKR inches up by 1 Paisa against USD

October 08, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 1.10 paisa or 0.00% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.21 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.22.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.80 and a low (ask) of 282.25.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.30 for buying and 282.25 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR strengthened 1.33 rupees or 0.41% against the Euro, closing at 327.17 compared to the previous value of 328.51.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 56.32 paisa or 0.15% to 377.45 compared to 378.01 a day ago.

The local unit increased 1.58 rupees or 0.45% against Swiss franc to close at 351.20.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value gained 2.24 paisa or 1.20% to close the session at 1.8450 versus 1.8674 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee appreciated 0.15 paisa or 0.00% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.50 from 39.50.

The local currency increased by 0.89 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 74.97. While it strengthened by 0.61 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.56.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 2.56 rupees or 0.91%. While it has fell 2.66 rupees or 0.95% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.93% and 11.18%.
