PKR gains 4 paisa per USD

September 26, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) rose by 3.51 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.37 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 281.41.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.50 and a low (ask) of 281.35.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.20 for buying and 282.40 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 1.66 rupees or 0.50% against the Euro, closing at 328.59 compared to the previous value of 330.24.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 2.35 rupees or 0.62% to 375.83 compared to 378.18 a day ago.

The local unit appreciated 1.37 rupees or 0.39% against Swiss franc to close at 351.91.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value gained 1.27 paisa or 0.67% to close the session at 1.8785 versus 1.8912 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee increased 4.86 paisa or 0.12% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.44 from 39.49.

The local currency gained by 0.93 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.02. While it gained by 0.96 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.61.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 2.39 rupees or 0.85%. While it has depreciated 2.82 rupees or 1.00% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 2bps to 10.84% and 11.09%.
