PKR gains 4 paisa against USD

August 12, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 3.59 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.42 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.45.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 283.9 and a low (ask) of 284.9. 
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.50 for buying and 284.90 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 67.72 paisa or 0.21% against the Euro, closing at 328.16 compared to the previous value of 328.83.
Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 0.81 paisa or 0.00% to 380.08 compared to 380.07 a day ago.
The local unit appreciated 25.97 paisa or 0.07% against Swiss franc to close at 348.66.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 0.90 paisa or 0.47% to close the session at 1.9043 versus 1.9133 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee appreciated 4.22 paisa or 0.11% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.28 from 39.32.
The local currency appreciated by 0.95 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.26. While it strengthened by 0.98 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.89.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 1.35 rupees or 0.48%. While it has fell 3.87 rupees or 1.37% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.81% and 11.06%.
