PKR falls 6 paisa against USD

June 27, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) weakened by 5.56 paisa or 0.02% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.72 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.67.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284 and a low (ask) of 285.95.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.70 for buying and 285.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 7.68 paisa or 0.02% against the Euro, closing at 332.59 compared to the previous value of 332.67.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 10.81 paisa or 0.03% to 389.93 compared to 390.04 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 75.71 paisa or 0.21% against Swiss franc to close at 355.16.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 0.66 paisa or 0.33% to close the session at 1.9650 versus 1.9716 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 0.45 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.58 from 39.57.

The local currency decreased by 1.28 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 75.65. While it decreased by 1.72 paisa or 0.02% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.26.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 5.38 rupees or 1.90%. While it has weakened 5.17 rupees or 1.82% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 2bps to 10.84% and 11.09%.
