PKR inches up by 3.5 Paisa against USD

October 07, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 3.51 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.22 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.25.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.30 and a low (ask) of 282.25.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.50 for buying and 282.30 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR depreciated 70.44 paisa or 0.21% against the Euro, closing at 328.51 compared to the previous value of 327.80.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 43.11 paisa or 0.11% to 378.01 compared to 377.58 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 86.10 paisa or 0.24% against Swiss franc to close at 352.78.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 0.53 paisa or 0.28% to close the session at 1.8674 versus 1.8727 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee gained 0.49 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.50 from 39.50.

The local currency strengthened by 1.83 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 74.98. While it strengthened by 0.74 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.57.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 2.55 rupees or 0.91%. While it has decreased 2.67 rupees or 0.95% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.92% and 11.17%.
