June 30, 2025 (MLN): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has declared a substantial hike in gas prices across domestic and other consumer categories, with the revised tariffs set to take effect from July 1, 2025.

According to the updated schedule, commercial gas prices remain unchanged at Rs3,900 per MMBtu.

General industry will now be charged Rs2,300 per MMBtu, up from Rs2,150, reflecting a 7% increase.

Similarly, captive power consumers will continue to pay Rs3,500 per MMBtu, with no change since January 2025.

Export-oriented sectors, both process and captive, will see no revision in rates, holding steady at Rs2,150 and Rs3,500 per MMBtu, respectively.

The cement sector maintains a flat rate of Rs4,400 per MMBtu.

Gas prices for fertilizer-feed and fertilizer-fuel remain constant at Rs597 and Rs1,597 per MMBtu, respectively.

However, the fertilizer-feed (concessionary) rate is also held steady at Rs1,597 per MMBtu, following a sharp increase earlier in the year.

In the domestic sector, protected consumers across all slabs from up to 0.25 hm³ to 0.9 hm³ per month will see no change in rates.

The fixed charge for this category has, however, been increased by 50%, from Rs400 to Rs600.

For non-protected domestic consumers, all gas price slabs remain unchanged.

These range from Rs1,250 per MMBtu for up to 1 hm³/month to Rs4,200 per MMBtu for consumption above 4 hm³/month.

The fixed monthly charge for non-protected consumers consuming more than 1.5 hm³/month has also been raised by 50%, from Rs2,000 to Rs3,000.
