NCCPL to collect July capital gains tax

September 02, 2025 (MLN): The National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) has shared that the collection of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) for the month of July 2025 will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

The aggregate CGT arising from the disposal of shares at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) during the period July 1 to July 31, 2025, will be collected through the respective settling banks of Clearing Members (CMs).

All CMs have been instructed to ensure that sufficient funds are available in their designated accounts to meet their tax obligations. Detailed reports for the relevant period have already been uploaded to the CGT System for review.

Similarly, the CGT arising from the redemption of units in open-end mutual funds for July 2025 has also been finalized, with corresponding reports accessible in the system.

NCCPL has directed CMs to carefully verify investor-wise details of capital gains or losses and the corresponding tax through the reports provided.

In case of non-payment or partial payment of CGT, CMs are required to immediately share the names and UINs of defaulting customers with NCCPL after the collection date.

The company has further cautioned that failure to comply with the reporting requirement may result in action under NCCPL’s applicable Rules and Regulations.
