September 15, 2025 (MLN): Kot Addu Power Company Limited (PSX: KAPCO) has informed its financial results for the year ended June 30, 2025, revealing a significant drop in profitability.

The company's net profit for the year fell to Rs2.54bn, a substantial decrease of 41.21% compared to the profit of Rs4.31bn in FY24.

This decline was primarily driven by a sharp contraction in revenue. Other income, a major component of the company's earnings, dropped by 51.65% to Rs7.07bn, from Rs14.63bn in the previous fiscal year.

This resulted in an operating profit of Rs3.24bn, which was 65.19% lower than the Rs9.32bn recorded in FY24.

Despite a significant decrease in finance costs, which fell by 93.43% to Rs. 248.36m, the company's overall profit still saw a considerable decline.

Consequently, the company's earnings per share (EPS) for the year stood at Rs. 2.88, representing a significant decrease of 41.22% from the Rs. 4.90 reported in the previous year.
