Govt purchases around Rs29bn Ijara Sukuk on Bai Mujjal basis

June 23, 2025 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted an auction on Monday for the outright purchase of Government of Pakistan Ijara Sukuk (GIS) on a deferred payment basis (Bai Muajjal), in which it purchased Rs28.95 billion.

SBP received bids amounting to Rs35.95bn for the sale of GIS Variable Rental Rate 20 (GIS-VRR-20), which reflects the total value of GIS that participants were willing to sell.

The price range offered by participants for the deferred Bai Muajjal settlement stood between Rs140.74 and Rs145.16.

The cut-off price was set at Rs142.37.
