507,000 acres to be brought under wheat cultivation in Sialkot

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr. Farrukh Naveed on Monday said that wheat crop would be cultivated at the area of 507,000 acre in the district.

He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of District Agricultural Advisory Committee in his office.

DC said that 9913 samples of soil were sent to laboratory for analysis and 11,306 farmers were registered for issuing Kisan

Cards, the government had set the target to give Kisan Card to 22,300 farmers till the end of the year.

Farrukh Naveed said that as per E-Credit Scheme, 6,600 farmers would be registered at Land Record Information and Management System.

He directed banks to provide bank loans to farmers before the start of cultivation of crops.

He also viewed subsidy process on fertilizers being provided to farmers. The local farmers were also attended the meeting.
