Yearly Inflation at 3.81 Percent in November

The PBS released the Inflation figures for November, following is the summary of their release.

  • CPI inflation General increased by 3.8% on year-on-year basis in November 2016 as compared to an increase of 4.2% in the previous month and 2.7% in November 2015. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.2% in November 2016 as compared to an increase of 0.8% in the previous month and a increase of 0.6% in November 2015.

  • Core inflation measured by non-food non-energy CPI (Core NFNE) increased by 5.3% on (YoY) basis in November 2016 as compared to increase of 5.2% in the previous month and 4.0% in November 2015. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.2% in November 2016 as compared to increase of 0.9% in previous month ,and an increase of 0.1% in corresponding month of last year i.e. November 2015.

  • Core inflation, measured by 20% weighted trimmed mean CPI (Core Trimmed) increased by 3.8% on (YoY) basis in November 2016 as compared to 3.8% in the previous month and by 2.9% in November 2015. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.2% in November 2016 as compared to an increase of 0.6% in the previous month and an increase of 0.2% in corresponding month of last year i.e. November 2015.

  • SPI inflation on YoY increased by 0.6% in November 2016 as compared to an increase of 1.3% a month earlier and an increase of 2.1% in November 2015. On MoM basis, it increased by 0.3% in November 2016 as compared to an increase of 0.7% a month earlier and an increase of 1.0% in November, 2015.

  • WPI inflation on YoY basis increased by 2.6% in November 2016 as compared to an increase of 2.8% a month earlier and a decrease of 1.7% in November 2015. WPI inflation on MoM basis decreased by 0.2% in November 2016 as compared to decrease of 0.0% a month earlier whereas no change is observed in corresponding month of last year i.e. November 2015.
