Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs7.9bn

July 25, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended July 19, 2024 clocked in at Rs7.9bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs24.38bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs10.46bn, which is around 67.83% lower than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs18.36bn, which is 67.73% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs7.9bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs38.54bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs22.05bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs13.39bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs2.62bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs28.79bn, which marks a rise of Rs3.05bn over the week.
