Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs1.36bn

November 03, 2023 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended October 27, 2023 clocked in at Rs1.36 billion, as compared to a net sale worth Rs734 million recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan on Friday.

The gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs2.33bn, which is around 66.66% lower than the figures recorded last week.

While the total purchase of securities stood at Rs3.68bn, which is 41.06% lower than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs1.36bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities decreased by Rs2.57bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs4.65bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs2.05bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs1.27bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs25.26bn, which marks a rise of Rs109.1m over the week.
