USA leads as top export destination for Pakistan in Aug

September 18, 2024 (MLN): The U. S. A. remained the top export destination for Pakistan during August 2024, with $473.84 million worth of shipments. However, this figure was down 4.2% against the exports of $494.77m in the same period last year.

According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, this was followed by U. K., as Pakistan exported goods worth $183.07m to the country as compared to the exports of $178.46m recorded during the same month of the previous year, depicting a rise of 2.6%.

China was the third on the list as Pakistan generated export revenue worth $163.34m from the country. This figure was down by 17.9% from the exports of $198.93m in the same period last year.

Germany was the fourth in line as exports to the region during the aforementioned period were $151.71m, depicting an increase of 17.2%.

Among other countries, Pakistan's exports to the U. A. E. Dubai stood at $148.7m, marking a rise of 21% YoY, while exports to Spain increased by 6.6% YoY to $125.24m.

Moreover, the export receipts received from Netherlands (Holland) stood at $122.8m, up by 3% YoY.

While on a monthly basis, the total exports to U. S. A. dropped by 0.5%. While exports to U. K. dropped by 0.1%.

Moreover, receipts received from exports to China depicted an increase of 2%.

Meanwhile, cumulatively, in 2MFY24, U. S. A. was the top source of export receipts, worth $949.86m as against the total exports worth $934.67m in 2MFY23.

Whereas, total exports to U. K. in 2MFY24 stood at $366.37m, registering an increase of 4.3%.

Cumulatively, U. A. E. Dubai ranked as the third-largest contributor to the country's export earnings, accounting for exports valued at $324.88m in 2MFY24, compared to $247.76m in the saem period last year
