UAE to release its financial assistance to Pakistan soon: Asad Umar

January 16, 2019 (MLN): Finance Minister Asad Umar has said that the government is continuously engaging with IMF and shall holds talks with it on two occasions this month.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of annual report of Burki Institute of Public Policy in Islamabad, the Minister said that the government has sent all economic data to the IMF, for which it was duly appreciated by the monetary fund.

He further spoke about the upcoming mini budget, and said that steps will be taken to ensure ease of doing business in the country,

Assuring that mini budget would be investment friendly, he said measures will be taken to boost trade activities and exports.

Furthermore, he showed appreciation towards China and Saudi Arabia for supporting Pakistan in difficult times, and revealed that UAE will soon release its financial assistance to Pakistan.

Moreover, he assured that government was preparing measures which would prevent the country from seeking any external program.

Touching upon the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said that the CPEC’s new role would improve economic indicators of the country.

The trade and industry sector shall receive get ample support from China in April, he added.

He also assured that steps will be taken to make state run companies independent.
