Trading at PMEX drops by 25.44% DoD

May 14, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Monday slipped by 25.44% DoD to clock in at Rs16.96 billion with the number of lots traded at 14,237. 

While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,649, up by 0.91% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs10.48bn. Following closely behind, Currencies through COTS recorded trading valued at Rs1.52bn.

NSDQ 100 also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs1.4bn. In addition, Silver, Crude Oil and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors, and their transactions stood at around Rs672.5 million, Rs858.5m, and Rs1.13bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs153.36m, DJ at Rs143.23m, Copper at Rs206m, S&P 500 at Rs73m, JPY equity at Rs170m and Brent at Rs15.7m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 15 lots amounting to Rs16.24m changing hands.
