RLNG imports hit by May disruptions, prices jump 42%

May 29, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan’s RLNG imports witnessed disruption during May 2026 amid the prevailing situation, leading to higher prices and lower import volumes on the SNGPL network.

The weighted average RLNG price on the SNGPL network surged around 42% YoY in May’26, primarily due to elevated global oil prices, import of one spot cargo by Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL), and higher terminal charges, according to Arif Habib Limited.

During the month, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) imported only three LNG cargoes under long-term contracts, causing RLNG volumes to decline to nearly 242 mmcfd.

The long-term cargoes were imported at a slope of 10.20% of Brent crude.

Meanwhile, PLL imported one spot cargo during May’26, equivalent to around 74 mmcfd, at a slope of 20.9% to DES, significantly higher than the long-term contracted slope.
