Trading activity at PMEX clocks in Rs19.13bn

PMEX trading activity falls 13.6% to Rs18.8bn

May 20, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Friday dropped by 11.22% DoD to stand at Rs19.13 billion with the number of lots traded at 18,372. 

While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,861, up by 1.01% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs11.72bn. Following closely behind, Currencies through COTS recorded trading valued at Rs1.5bn.

NSDQ 100 also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs1.28bn. In addition, Silver, Crude Oil and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors, and their transactions stood at around Rs1.94bn, Rs493.7 million, and Rs1.33bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs93.96m, DJ at Rs111.4m, Copper at Rs344.8m, S&P 500 at Rs38.5m and Brent at Rs12.8m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 17 lots amounting to Rs17.98m changing hands.
