July 24, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and China's FAMSUN Group have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to establish a FAMSUN Technology Display Park at PARC, aimed at promoting cooperation in agricultural innovation, research, technology transfer and capacity building.

The Letter of Intent was signed by Chairman PARC, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, and Chief Executive Officer of FAMSUN Group, Jack Chen.

The Letter of Intent materialized through the efforts of Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, with support from the Secretary, Ministry of National Food Security & Research, to attract world-class agricultural technologies and international investment to Pakistan.

Under the LoI, the two organizations will work together to explore establishment of the Technology Display Park.

The park is envisioned as a centre for technology demonstration, research collaboration, professional training and engagement between government institutions, academia, industry and investors.

It will also facilitate knowledge exchange and introduction of globally recognized agricultural solutions in Pakistan.

Rana Tanveer Hussain said the agreement marks an important step in the government's agenda to transform Pakistan's agriculture through international partnerships and modern technologies.

He added that the proposed park will serve as a national platform where the latest agricultural engineering solutions will be demonstrated for researchers, farmers, entrepreneurs, investors and the private sector.

He said improving productivity, reducing post-harvest losses and increasing value addition require access to modern technologies and global expertise.

He added that collaboration with one of the world's leading agricultural engineering companies will help introduce internationally proven solutions, strengthen research and create new opportunities for investment and industrial cooperation.

The development follows a separate meeting chaired by the Minister with a FAMSUN delegation led by Jack Chen.

During the meeting, the company was invited to set up a modern network of high-tech silos across the country to curb post-harvest losses and strengthen food security.

It was also urged to explore local manufacturing and assembly of advanced agricultural machinery in Pakistan, alongside a proposal to build a pilot demonstration silo at PARC that could serve as a training and research model.

At that meeting, the Minister credited FAMSUN for nearly two decades of support to the country's feed milling, grain handling and food processing industries and called for expanded training for Pakistani scientists, researchers, technicians and agricultural graduates through closer academic and technical linkages with Chinese institutions.

Dr. Andrabi described the agreement as a historic achievement for PARC, saying the Technology Display Park will become the first dedicated platform of its kind at PARC for showcasing advanced agricultural engineering technologies from a globally recognized company.

He said the collaboration will significantly strengthen Pakistan's agricultural research system by connecting scientific research with modern industrial technologies, and that researchers, scientists, students, farmers and agribusinesses will benefit from direct exposure to advanced technologies, international expertise and collaborative research opportunities.

Jack Chen expressed confidence in Pakistan's agricultural potential and appreciated PARC's role as the country's premier agricultural research organization, reaffirming FAMSUN's commitment to building a long-term partnership with Pakistan through knowledge sharing, innovation and collaborative initiatives that support sustainable agricultural development.
