June 25, 2021 (MLN):  It is with reference to the earlier announcement made by TPL Corp Limited,  the company has apprised further that no notice for appearance before the court has been served to either Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ali Jameel, or Director, Ms. Sabiha Sultan.  Director.

The same resulted from a Private Complaint filed by the wife of the CEO of Media Channel against Mr. Ali Jameel and Ms. Sabiha Sultan.

The Private Complaints are filed on frivolous grounds with mala fide intent, resulting from legitimate concern through confidential letters raised by several parents, including but not limited to Mr. Ali Jameel and Ms. Sabiha Sultan, of children studying at Karachi American School (“KAS”) for appointing Ayesha Shaikh as a Trustee of Karachi American School, the notification said.

The company further stated that the concern through letters, which were written in a confidential capacity to KAS by the parents was legitimate to maintain the sanctity of KAS.

This is an attempt to defame and malign the reputation of Mr. Ali Jameel and Ms. Sabiha Sultan, and has no involvement whatsoever with the Company or any of the group companies of TPL Corp Limited. The said actions are highly condemnable and result directly out of a personal vendetta against the said personalities, the notification explained.

Mr. Ali Jameel and Ms. Sabiha Sultan reserve the right to take appropriate legal action against such malicious prosecution including filing for damages due to reduction in the market cap of TPL Group shares due to this malicious campaign and lodging a formal complaint with PEMRA for defamatory material aired.

Earlier today, the company informed that it has come across a smear campaign by a non-credible Media Channel regarding the issuance of purported arrest warrants against the Chief Executive Officer and sponsor, Ali Jameel.
