Siemens awarded $84mn contract to build KANUPP – K-Electric Interconnection Grid Station

May 06, 2022 (MLN): Siemens Pakistan Engineering has been awarded a contract worth Rs15.5 billion (USD84 million) by K-Electric to build the KANUPP – K-Electric Interconnection (KKI) 500/220 kV Grid Station for meeting the increasing electricity demand of industrial, commercial, and residential sectors across Karachi, the company’s filing on bourse showed today.

This project will enable KEL to import additional power of up to 800MW from the national grid from summer 2024.

The contract will have a material impact on the financials of the Company, the notice added.
