According to information provided by Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA), total energy generated during the month of June 2018 was reported at 12,913 GWh, up from 12,117 GWh generated in May 2018.

Hydel generation contributed 27.79% of the total electricity generated in the national grid during the month of June 2018, compared to 18.3% during the month before. Hydel generation was reported at 3,589.02 GWh in June 2018 compared to 2,217.61 GWh generated in May 2018.

Generation from RFO based power plants however reduced to 9% of the total generation in June, compared to 19.3% in May 2018. Total generation from RFO plants was recorded at 1,162.5 GWh in June compared to 2,338.23 GWh in May 2018.

Coal based power plants contributed 11.79% in the total generation, compared to 12.12% for the previous month. Even though the share in total generation decreased, power generated increased to 1,522.57 GWh from 1,468.95 GWh in May.

Similarly, generation from gas based power plants also increased to 2,026.03 GWh in June, a jump from 1,971 GWh in May. However, its share in power generation decreased to 15.69% from 16.27% during the previous month.

RLNG plants, another significant contributor to our power generation, recorded an increase in power generation, contributing 3,252 GWh in June 2018, a jump from 2,890.17 GWh produced in May. Its share in power generation also increased from 23.85% in May to 25.18% in June.
