PKR remains flat, closes at 281.16 against USD

October 13, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) recorded a slight appreciation of 0.95 paisa, remaining nearly unchanged against the US dollar during Monday’s interbank session. The local currency closed at PKR 281.16 per USD, compared to the previous day’s closing of 281.17.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.80 and a low (ask) of 282.20.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.50 for buying and 282.25 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR decreased 49.51 paisa or 0.15% against the Euro, closing at 326.16 compared to the previous value of 325.67.
Against the British Pound, PKR weakened by 70.43 paisa or 0.19% to 374.88 compared to 374.17 a day ago.
The local unit fell 1.12 rupees or 0.32% against Swiss franc to close at 350.25.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.60 paisa or 0.33% to close the session at 1.8464 versus 1.8404 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee strengthened 4.09 paisa or 0.10% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.42 from 39.47.
The local currency increased by 0.25 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 74.96. While it increased by 0.15 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.55.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 2.60 rupees or 0.93%. While it has deteriorated 2.61 rupees or 0.93% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.92% and 11.17%.
