October 13, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has officially launched its pavilion at Expand North Star 2025, one of the world's largest start-up gatherings.

This marked a significant milestone in the country's push to establish itself as a major player in the global technology sector.

In a major revelation during the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi announced that Pakistan's IT exports to the UAE have reached a record $376 million in FY 2024–25, representing a substantial deepening of tech trade between the two nations.

The ambassador further disclosed that Pakistan's total global IT exports have crossed the $3.76 billion mark.

50+ Pakistani start-ups showcase innovation

The Pakistan Pavilion, located at Hall 8, Stand No. H8-B180 at Dubai Harbour, features 10 government-backed start-ups under Ignite - National Technology Fund, alongside more than 40 independent start-ups, making it one of the largest national delegations at the four-day event running from October 12-15.

Event organizers report notably strong investor interest in the Pakistani pavilion this year, with global venture capitalists, accelerators, and corporate partners actively exploring collaboration and funding opportunities with Pakistani founders.

This surge in attention reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan's ability to produce scalable, impactful, and investment-ready technology businesses.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Rafique Ahmed Buriro emphasized the government's commitment to building a knowledge-based economy.

"These start-ups are not only ambassadors of Pakistan's digital potential but also vital contributors to our national goal of achieving sustainable economic growth through the knowledge economy," he stated.

The Pakistani delegation showcased innovative digital products and technological solutions across diverse sectors, positioning the country as an emerging hub for tech entrepreneurship in South Asia.

The pavilion launch comes at a critical time for Pakistan's technology sector, which has been working to attract foreign investment and establish itself as a competitive destination for tech innovation.

The record export figures and strong investor turnout suggest that these efforts are beginning to yield tangible results.

Expand North Star 2025, the region's premier platform for connecting global start-ups, investors, and innovators, provides Pakistani entrepreneurs with unprecedented access to international markets, funding sources, and strategic partnerships that could accelerate the growth of the country's start-up ecosystem.
