SBP reserves decrease by 541m in a week

July 27, 2023 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) diminished by $541.1 million or 6.2% WoW to $8.19 billion during the week ended on July 21, 2023, according to the data released by the central bank on Thursday.

The decrease was mainly due to external debt payments.

Similarly, the country's total reserves decreased by $531.2m or 3.78% WoW to $13.53bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks rose by $9.9m or 0.19% WoW to $5.35bn.
