SBP issues advance calendar of MPC meetings for H2 2024

July 23, 2024 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued the advance calender of monetary policy committee meetings for the second half of 2024.

In this regard, the dates for the next four meetings are as follows:

Monday, July 29, 2024, followed by Press Conference
Thursday, September 12, 2024
Monday, November 04, 2024
Monday, December 16, 2024

To note, in the last MPC meeting held on June 10, the committee slashed interest rates by 150 basis points (BPS) to 20.5% after holding it at a record 22% for a year.

The reduction was the first in almost four years after what has been the most aggressive fight against soaring inflation.
