SBP earnings triple to Rs3.4tr

September 23, 2024 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) posted a record profit of Rs3.41 trillion in Fiscal year 2023-24, an increase of 199.7% compared to last year's profit of Rs1.14tr.

Going by the income statement made available by the central bank, the net markup income surged 60.8% from a year ago to Rs3.27tr in FY24.

The central bank also reported an exchange gain of Rs186.08 billion compared to an exchange loss of Rs874.67bn incurred last year.

SBP also earned other income of Rs5.15bn as against other losses worth Rs1.54bn last year.
