SBP announces office and banking hours for Ramadan

April 13, 2021 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday announced the office and banking timings during the holy month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.

This will also be followed by all commercial banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks, a notification released by SBP said.

The office hours will be: Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with prayer break from 2:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. whereas on Fridays the timings will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. without any break.

Banks/MFBs are further advised to observe the following business (banking) hours for public dealing: Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. without any break whereas on Friday business (banking) hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. without any break.

However, except Friday, banks / MFBs may observe extended business (banking) hours for public dealing from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with 15 minutes prayer break at their branches situated in major cities/business centers / commercial markets & hubs/ports, etc.

After the holy month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, the above timings will automatically be reverted to pre-Ramadan timings.
