Sale of trucks declines by 54 percent in May

June 17, 2019 (MLN): The total number of trucks sold during the month of May-19 declined by nearly 9.5 percent MoM at 368 units. Similarly, truck sales dropped by around 54.2 percent YoY from 804 units sold in May last year.

Within this segment, Isuzu made the maximum sales at 192 units, while Hino took the second lead by selling 92 units during the said period.

According to the data announced by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), the total number of Buses sales grew by 27.6 percent MoM to 83 units, but declined by 18.6 percent YoY. The major sales within this category came from Hino as it sold 38 units during the month.

Likewise, total number of jeeps sold during the period under review declined by 16.7 percent MoM at 600 units, while total number of tractors sold fell by 33.7 percent MoM at 3599 units.
