Punjab govt subsidizes fertilizers to facilitate farmers

April 8, 2019: In order to facilitate farmers, Punjab government has decided to provide them with subsidy on fertilizers through subsidy vouchers.
According to the spokesman for Punjab Agriculture Department Mr. Najaf Abbas, the subsidy is being given on Diammonium phosphate fertilizer (DAP), Nitrophos, Nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium and Sulphate of potash fertilizers.
He said that the subsidy will help reduce the production expenses of crops and will increase their per acre yield.
Mr. Najaf Abbas said that around 5.2 million farmer families will benefit from the subsidy scheme.
